Once again Warsaw is celebrating Neighbors' Day. In a friendly atmosphere, with interesting activities that can be proposed and implemented by the residents themselves with the support of the city. All in order to get to know each other better, to build better neighborhoods on a daily basis, to exchange a perfunctory "good morning" for a closer acquaintance.
This year's neighborhood festival falls on May 27, but local events planned as part of its celebration will take place until the end of June. Its organizers include cultural institutions, libraries and offices, as well as informal groups of residents who want to do something for their local community.

This year we all gained new neighbors and new neighbors. Some of them moved from other towns or neighborhoods, others from across the Ukrainian border. Neighbor's Day is a good opportunity to spend time together nicely and get acquainted with each other. Each neighborhood can celebrate as it wishes, " says Karolina Zdrodowska, Director Coordinator for Entrepreneurship and Social Dialogue at the Capital City Hall.
internationally and locally
Neighbor's Day is celebrated in more than 30 European countries. In Europe, it falls under the auspices of the European Commission. It is about neighbors spending time together. The measure of success is not the number of participants or the scale of the event, but the good atmosphere of the meeting. As part of the celebration, one can meet at a common table, take care of the neighborhood greenery together or organize a neighborhood garage sale. Every year neighbors all over Warsaw initiate such local meetings.

city hall will help
Residents who want to organize grassroots activities in their backyards can count on the support of the City Hall. Its forms range from free workshops, individual counseling for novice animators of local life, to a wide catalog of hints, inspiration and ready-made materials for download. For each neighborhood group that plans to implement a Neighbor's Day, coordinators have prepared neighborhood packages to support interested residents in organizing the event, including posters and postcards to let neighbors and neighbors know that such an activity is being implemented in their neighborhood.
Local Neighbor's Day can also be added to a city-wide map prepared by the office. The promotion and support of this year's Neighbor's Day celebrations is handled by the Warsaw City Hall together with the Cultural Group in Action Foundation.
Theorganization of the Neighbor's Day will also be helped by equipment that can be borrowed for free from theCo-operative Cultureweb portal .
